One of the most controversial predictions I can make today is this:
The AI Revolution will create millions of new poor people.
Not because AI is evil.
But because many people will refuse to adapt.
History has seen this movie before.
When the Industrial Revolution began in the late 1700s and early 1800s, many workers believed machines were the enemy.
Some even destroyed factory equipment.
The famous Luddites in England attacked textile machines because they feared losing their jobs.
The machines won.
History moved on.
The people who adapted became part of the new economy.
The people who refused were left behind.
Fast forward.
When computers arrived in the 1980s and 1990s, many people ignored them.
Today, computer literacy is almost a basic requirement for modern employment.
The same thing happened with the internet.
In the 1990s, many people thought the internet was a toy.
Today entire industries depend on it.
Now AI has arrived.
And many people are reacting exactly the same way.
Some are learning.
Some are building.
Some are adapting.
Others are complaining.
The future will reward the first group.
Look at what is happening globally.
Companies are already using AI to:
Write content,
Analyze data,
Generate code,
Handle customer service,
Create designs,
Automate workflows, and improve productivity.
Tasks that once required 10 people may soon require 2 people with AI tools.
That is not politics.
That is reality.
The world does not pay you because you need money.
The world pays you because you create value.

Artificial Intelligence Revolution: AI is changing how values are created
And AI is changing how value is created.
This is why I laugh when some Nigerians spend all day complaining about Tinubu and his government, while ignoring the biggest economic revolution happening in front of them.
Whether you support President Tinubu or oppose him politically, AI does not care.
AI is not APC.
AI is not PDP.
AI is not ADC or NDC.
AI is coming for everybody.
While Nigerians are arguing on Facebook for 10 hours daily, somebody in India is learning machine learning.
Somebody in China is building AI tools.
Somebody in Kenya is mastering prompt engineering.
Somebody in Rwanda is learning data analytics.
Somebody in Lagos is automating an entire business.
And the gap grows wider.
Many people believe economic hardship is their biggest threat.
I disagree.
Economic irrelevance is a bigger threat.
History shows that technological revolutions create enormous wealth for adapters.
The steam engine created new fortunes.
Electricity created new fortunes.
The automobile created new fortunes.
The internet created new fortunes.
AI will create even bigger fortunes.
But every technological revolution also creates new poor people.
Not because opportunities disappeared.
Because opportunities changed.
Look at the companies dominating global markets today.
Many of the world’s most valuable companies are technology companies.
The global AI market is projected to reach trillions of dollars in value over the coming years.
Governments are investing heavily.
Corporations are investing heavily.
Universities are restructuring.
Entire industries are reorganizing around AI.
Yet some people still think their biggest problem is who won the last election.
Painful truth:
Many Nigerians are using 2026 technology with a 2006 mindset.
That is dangerous.
The people who thrive in the next decade will not necessarily be:
The most connected.
The most educated, or even the richest today.
They will be the fastest learners.
The most adaptable.
The most productive.
The most willing to evolve.
This is why those complaining endlessly about reforms should wake up.
Debate politics if you want.
Hold leaders accountable.
Demand better governance.
But understand something important:
No government can adapt for you.
No president can learn new skills for you.
No governor can make you productive.
The future belongs to people who prepare before change becomes unavoidable.
The AI Revolution is not waiting for Nigeria.
It is not waiting for Africa.
It is not waiting for anybody.
And ten years from now, there will be two groups of people:
Those who used AI to multiply their productivity.
And those who spent their time complaining while the future passed them by.
