Receiving royalties from Amazon KDP

As a Publishing firm that has helped lots of authors to get their books published online on Amazon and other estores in Nigeria, we have come across lots of authors who are having issues with collecting their ebook royalties from Amazon. With this post, the confusion is going to end.

With the options that will be shown in this article and the information around them, you should be able to pick a good option to collect book royalties from Amazon.

Options to receive royalties from Amazon as a Nigerian

I am going to share the information around these options below:

Option 1: Let us look at Geegpay

Geegpay has a better rate for dollar to naira conversion. You should go to geegpay.africa to create an account. You will be able to verify with just your National Identify Number (nin). You can also use your nin as proof of address.

Another good news is that you can withdraw below $50. This is unlike Payoneer where you must have $50 and above as a Nigerian to withdraw your money to your bank account in Nigeria.

The super fast withdrawal to local banks is also worth mentioning. It arrives in less than 1 hour.

Authors on Amazon KDP

Authors who sell books on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) should be happy with this option. You can register on GeegPay, get verified, and pick up your US virtual account. Put this account in your Amazon account settings.

Just exactly as it is done with Payoneer. Amazon pays into your US virtual account with GeegPay. You can withdraw your money to your Nigerian bank account from your GeegPay account.

Option 2: Payoneer is no longer a profitable option

For this option, I ll just talk about some of the downsides for Nigerians to use Payoneer to receive ebook royalties from Amazon.

Payoneer’s US virtual account, you would get a poor rate of about N440 per dollar. Your money would arrive in two to three days. However, if you use GeegPay you get around N719 per dollar or whatever is the market rate. Your money would arrive in less than one hour in most cases.

Option 3: Grey

Grey.co. is another option where you can have virtual accounts. Though the Grey website is still fully functional. It’s just that their USD account no longer works with Amazon, Payoneer, and PayPal.
