Good news! Amazon KDP now accept Nigerian bank accounts. This is a breaking news and it is good news to Nigerian authors who have their books published on Amazon using the Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform.

Breaking news: Amazon KDP now accept Nigerian bank accounts

As a publishing firm that has helped lots of Nigerian authors to get their books published on Amazon over the years, this news really gladdens our hearts. Coupled with the facts that we also have lots of our own in-house books published and sold on Amazon, we should send some thank you gifts to Amazon for this decision.

In the past, Nigerian banks accounts were not allowed. When it is the time to enter a bank account to receive royalties in the Account settings section of Amazon KDP accounts, Nigerian authors always have to either pick the following options:

  • Payment by check
  • Payment by gift vouchers
  • Go through Payoneer.com
  • Go through Wise.con
  • Or use a friend’s bank account in any of the accepted countries

            Go to your account settings on top of your dashboard. Go to add bank account.

            You will need the sort code of the bank you’re using and the account number.

            You can get the sort code by searching on Google.

    How will they do the conversion, hope it won’t be that bank will cut large chunk of the royalty in the name of conversion because it’s one of the reasons many are using third-party like payoneer, grey and the likes. Please let’s us know if there won’t be much deduction or maybe Amazon will convert it by themselves.

      It’s better than Payoneer and others in terms of cost. The only downside is that you have to reach a threshold of 100$ before you get paid.
